Monica de Bath

Monica de Bath Statement Her practice involves an ongoing enquiry into the way in which workers (herself included) inhabit and re-imagine the land in which we work. It asks if it is possible to translate social, economic and ecological tensions related to land use into visual narratives that in turn intervene in the imaginary landscape of place. ‘Trial Plot’, her current action, acts as a frame to represent growing trials and incidental social interactions at a partially cut away bog. Located at a peat production site, the plot was offered to her by Bord na Móna as a trial plot. Painting, Printmaking, Photographic documentation and conversations are integral to her practice.
