Jean Dillon

Jean Dillon Statement I have always been interested in shapes and combinations of shapes, be they natural or manmade. Colours concern me less, though that is not to say I am not moved by them. Having lived in California for a number of years, I came to appreciate the starkness and jaggedness of environments such as the Sierra Nevada and Death Valley. I try to capture essential elements in these, while trying to avoid replicating them. CV Accademia di Belli Arti, Rome. Richmond Art Centre, California. Worked in oils and for a period hand-painted fabrics for a boutique in San Francisco. On return from the US, joined the LPS and took up printmaking. I mostly work in Carborundum and dry-point.
